The Senate will return to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, the first day of a government closure, and it is expected to take votes again on government financing bills that reflect the failed votes they took on Tuesday as Congress leaders continue to blame the opposite party for the closure.
The Senate will vote on Wednesday morning in two votes on the bills aimed at financing the government. The closure of the government entered into force at 12:01 AM on Wednesday. The votes are in the same two bills as the Senate did not advance on Tuesday.

The first will be, once again, a procedural vote on the government’s financing proposal of the Democrats that includes the medical care provisions they have been looking for. It would need 60 votes to be approved and it is expected to fail in the Senate controlled by the Republican Party.
The second vote in that series will be a procedural vote on the Financing Law of the Republican Stop Clean and supported by the house that failed on Tuesday night. Three Democrats voted for that Tuesday and all the eyes will be in the Democrats to see if any other defect of their party position to support that bill during Wednesday’s votes. I would also need 60 votes to advance.
The leader of the majority, John Thune, blamed the Democrats for closing during a press conference on Wednesday morning.
“They have taken the American people hostage,” Thune said about the Democrats.

Thune said that Republicans now look for those few additional Democrats to support their draft clean financing and short term.
“There are others out there, I think they do not want to close the government, but that they are being put in a position for their leadership that should do them, I should do them all very uncomfortable,” Thune said after the failed votes on Tuesday night. “Then we’ll see.”
The sens. Democratic John Fetterman, Catherine Cortez Masto and Angus King (an independent who is hunted with the Democrats) stole their party leader on Tuesday night and voted with the Republicans in a short -term financing bill with the aim of keeping the government open for seven more weeks.

“Every part of this was completely avoidable,” said Johnson, added that the Democrats should approve the clean CR as they did in the camera.
“They have dragged us to another reckless closure to attract their extreme left base,” said Johnson.
“The more this lasts, the more pain it will be inflicted,” he said.
On Tuesday, the chuck minority leader Schumer He urged Republicans to come to the negotiating table.

Schumer He retreated the failed votes on the Senate’s floor, contributing the guilt to the Republicans who “have failed to obtain enough votes to avoid a closure.”
The Senate is expected to take votes on other matters in the afternoon, around 2 pm, and then they are expected to go to Yom Kippur. The Senate will probably leave Thursday, but return on Friday and the weekend as negotiations continue.
